Ongoing Support

Gentle, consistent support over time

Our Ongoing Support service is designed for families who would benefit from regular, familiar support without introducing medical care or disrupting established routines.

It’s about having someone consistent and trusted involved over time, offering practical help, reassurance, and gentle structure that supports independence rather than replacing it.

How this fits with a Home Assessment

Ongoing Support often follows a Home Assessment, where we identify areas where ongoing, light-touch support could make everyday life feel easier and more manageable.

For some clients, the assessment highlights a need for:

  • regular check-ins
  • gentle prompting
  • continued help maintaining systems already put in place

For others, families already know that consistent support - even at a low level - would provide reassurance and stability.

What Ongoing Support can include

Support is always tailored, but may include:

Practical continuity

  • Regular visits to help maintain organisation systems
  • Light support with routines and daily structure
  • Gentle prompting around agreed tasks or habits
  • Helping ensure the home continues to work well over time

Reassurance and presence

  • A familiar, trusted face
  • Time to talk and check in
  • Support that feels companionable rather than task-driven
  • Helping reduce isolation without forcing activity

Supporting independence

  • Encouraging continued involvement and decision-making
  • Adapting support as needs change
  • Avoiding unnecessary intervention
  • Respecting pace, preferences, and boundaries

A relationship-based approach

We understand that trust takes time - especially when older adults are resistant to “help” or wary of losing independence.

Because we’ve supported our own family members through ageing, we approach ongoing support slowly and respectfully. Consistency, familiarity, and mutual understanding matter more than doing things quickly.

Our role is to support daily life in a way that feels natural, not imposed.

For families

Ongoing Support is often arranged by adult children who:

  • Live far away
  • Worry about gradual changes over time
  • Want reassurance without escalating care
  • Are supporting parents who resist formal assistance

We’re happy to keep families informed, while ensuring the older person always feels respected and in control.

Pricing

Ongoing Support pricing is discussed on a case-by-case basis.

This allows us to match the level and frequency of support to individual needs, routines, and preferences.

Indicative pricing can be shared following an initial conversation.

How to get started

  • Many clients begin with a Home Assessment, followed by Ongoing Support
  • Others get in touch directly to discuss whether ongoing support might be appropriate

We’re happy to talk things through and recommend a starting point that feels right.
