Home Assessment & Recommendations

A practical starting point for safer and easier living at home

A home assessment helps older adults live more safely and comfortably at home, while giving families clarity and peace of mind.

Our assessments are non-medical and focus on practical, everyday improvements that support independence, dignity, and ease of living.

  • Home safety & layout

A walk-through of the home to identify trip hazards, lighting issues, high-risk areas, and layout challenges that affect daily movement.

  • Mobility & access

Assessment of how the individual moves through the home, including stairs, bathrooms, entrances, and commonly used spaces.

  • Organisation & ease

Assessment of storage, reachability, and organisation systems to reduce strain, confusion, and unnecessary effort.

  • Everyday technology

Review of basic technology such as phones, remotes, alarms, and emergency contacts to ensure they’re easy to use and set up correctly.

  • A clear written summary

A plain-language overview of the home, highlighting key risks, strengths, and immediate priorities.

  • Practical recommendations

Specific, realistic suggestions to improve safety, comfort, organisation, and day-to-day ease.

  • Next-step guidance

Clear guidance on what can be done now, what can wait, and where further support may be helpful.
